Batyam is the thesis collection by Mexican designer Karina Ciuk. Inspired after the dressing of orthodox jewish women at the beach, who have to adhere with the religious rules of etiquette, function and comfort. The collection's re-interpreted the function of activeware as a viable option for orthodox jewish women.
The clothes are designed to give more comfort while maintaining a contemporary silhouette, giving a fresh, young look to the orthodox dress code.
For the lookbook, the active feel was preserved, open spaces were needed to boost the material's textures and details. Interestingly, the pictures were taken at a highschool where the “sporty” mood of the collection was captured.
